Laser Tattoo & PMU Removal

"It's a lifestyle choice, so if you change your mind - we can help"

Your tattoo, or permanent make-up, doesn't have to be for life. Whatever your reason for wanting to remove or reduce it for a cover up - we can help.

Our female team are all highly experienced and our clinic is a service provider of laser treatments for NHS Lothian, which means you can relax in our safe and female-friendly environment.

Unlike many other providers our medical laser, which is a Candela AlexTrivantage, can remove or reduce ALL ink colours which means we can provide solutions for complex multi-coloured tattoos and permanent make-up.

The most common reasons our patients seek treatment include:

  • Permanent make-up which no longer suits them.
  • Tattoos which have faded in colour.
  • Tattoos which due to stretch marks, or sagging skin, no longer represent the original design.
  • Poor tattoo artwork.
  • The tattoo no longer fits with their feelings of current identity.

The speed at which we can achieve your desired results depends on the quality of the inks used and the depth at which the ink was placed.  Most tattoos take 6-12 treatments to remove. Treatments should be spaced 6-8 weeks apart to protect your skin from complications, which means the process typically takes 9-12 month. Reductions for cover-ups 4-6 months.

Laser tattoo removal uses specific frequencies of light, for different colours, to pass through your skin and shatter the tattoo ink into tiny particles to allow your body's immune system to disposes of these ink fragments. To prevent damage to the skin - it is important that treatments on the same area are spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

How painful is laser tattoo removal?

It is no more painful than having the tattoo in the first place. Any discomfort comes from the build up of heat in your skin during a long procedure, so we have an iCool system which you can use to blast cold air on to your tattoo during your treatment to improve your comfort.

Can you guarantee to remove my tattoo?

Nobody can make such a guarantee, because so much depends on the quality of the inks used in your tattoo. Tattoo cover-ups can be more difficult due to a mixture of inks. However, our AlexTriVantage medical laser is recognised as one of the world's most efficient and can remove tattoos unlike many salon or tattoo parlour systems which can only fade tattoos. We are a laser service provide to NHS Lothian and therfore can offer you the very best chance of removing your tattoo safely.
